Minimum TGP 92%. Expected TGP expected over 112%.\nRegistration begins at Noon Eastern on Saturday\, February 3rd.\n$25 per player ($15 prize pool\, $9 house fee for free play\, electricity offset\, snacks and drinks\, $1 IFPA Endorsement fee) is due via Paypal/Venmo within 72h of registration. Cash at door accepted for players who have played 2 tournaments in the last year here — you must contact Derek or Jordan to make arrangements if you’re paying cash at door or some other way.\n\nTarget Matchplay using IFPA Scoring (7/5/3/1 or 7/4/1)\, on alternating banks of “longer playing” and “shorter playing” games. In the spirit of love\, all pairings will be balanced\, meaning you should get an opportunity to play with everyone throughout the day! The end of the tournament will be nigh when one player hits 56 points (The year Ian Curtis was born — look it up kids). Play will continue until either: 4 players have reached the target score\, or 3 additional rounds of play have been completed after the first person has hit the target. Any exact ties for top 4 will be broken on a 3 ball game of Grand Prix (or similar\, if the game is unavailable at the time of the tiebreak). \nThe top 4 will compete in a 4 game playoff in Build-A-Bank format. The 1st seed will have the first game pick\, and will earn a subsequent pick for as many additional rounds that were played after they hit the target. Any available game picks will cascade to the next seed for choosing. (For example\, if the top seed hits the target on round 9\, and the last round is round 11\, the top seed will choose the first 3 games\, and the second seed would choose one.) \nPlayers 5-8 will play a single game not chosen in the finals for a $20 Funspot Tokens gift card! It’s hard to find a full day to play pinball\, and with the holidays bearing down like a homicidal MAC truck with a Ringmaster on the front\, who needs more stress. So finally: A quicker\, shorter\, cheaper\, and still a lot of fun The Lower Playfield tournament to wrap up the year. \nHoliday Overdrive will consist of 15 head-to-head games of Max Matchplay — the replacement to the good ol’ Flip Frenzy we used to play all the time! Players will be randomly placed on games against players you hopefully haven’t played already that day for a head-to-head battle. The top 8 players will move on to a 4-player\, 3 game matchplay group scored 4-2-1-0 where the highest seed will have choice of two of the games\, and the 3rd will be a randomly assigned “short play” game. Play continues until we crown a champion! \nDidn’t make the playoffs? No problem! Everyone who missed the playoffs will be put into a head-to-head\, single game bracket. The winner takes home a prize as well! \nWPPR Fiends: This will calculate to 27 TGP\, or 108% WPPR value. The single elimination bracket is not IFPA certified and is just for the prizes! \nThis is essentially the same format as our recently held anniversary tournament\, with a few small changes to keep things moving better throughout the day! And now we know how long these will take: We expect the Matchplay tournament to run 3 and a half hours. The two playoffs will take roughly 2 hours for the top 8\, and about an hour and a half for the single elimination players. Who woulda thunk it — a whole year! Our first tournament was a 16 person flip frenzy — how far we’ve come! Let’s celebrate the past and also farm some WPPRs like we do these days. \nMatchplay Mayhem will will be a head-to-head battle royale. We’ll start with 13 rounds of head-to-head Max Matchplay\, where you will be placed with another player randomly on a game head to head. Once all players have played 13 games\, the top 16 will move on to 4 player\, 3 game match play groups scored 4-2-1-0. Your first game will be assigned as a random “short play” game. The high seed of the group will choose the other two games or position\, with the next highest seed choosing\, and so on. Players may only select a game ONCE during the playoffs. Top two from each group move on to the next round until we crown a winner! \nPlayers eliminated in the Semifinal round will play 1 game for a consolation prize. \nDidn’t make the playoffs? No problem! Everyone who missed the playoffs will be put into a head-to-head\, single game bracket. The winner takes home a prize as well! \nWPPR Fiends: This will calculate to 31 TGP\, or 124% WPPR value. The single elimination bracket is not IFPA certified and is just for the prizes! \nAs for time\, I’ll note we are running tournament types we’ve not run before! Cash at door accepted for players who have played 2 tournaments in the last year here — you must contact Derek or Jordan to make arrangements if you’re paying cash at door or some other way.\n\nOur next tournament will be significantly smaller than WPPRmania was\, but oddly enough\, it’s the “Main Event” component of WPPRmania! \nStarting at noon\, we will run 12 rounds of 3 or 4 player Match Play matches\, alternating between games that have historically run longer and shorter (not quite “Moderns” and “Classics”\, but you get the idea). Scores will be PAPA style based on finish (7-5-3-1). After round one\, pairings will continue in a tiered Swiss-style pairing for 11 more rounds. A tiebreak game will be played if necessary to split top 2 seeds or anyone playing into the top 8. Automatic tiebreakers will be used for all other positions. The top 8 players will move on to bank style 4-game\, 4 Player Match Play finals\, with the top 2 advancing to the next round. Players not making the final round will compete in two rounds of stallball for prizes! \nFor the WPPR hounds among us\, this will calculate out to 160% TGP and will be in the neighborhood of 24 WPPRs to the winner. Such Wow! Much impress! \nWe anticipate\, based on past tournaments\, the Matchplay portion to take roughly 4-5 hours\, and the finals to take an additional 2-3 hours. Epic fun.\nDesigned to be the highest bang-for-your-buck day if you care about WPPR points\, fun\, and flippin\, WPPRMania is a full day of multiple pinball tournaments. Certainly catered to the individual who wants ranking points\, but designed to be a full\, fun day for all. Prizes\, food\, and more — can you survive …. WPRRMANIA?!?!\n\nIMPORTANT INFORMATION:\nDate: April 29th\, 2023\nThe Lower Playfield\, Goffstown NH\nDoors: 9 AM\, First play promptly at 10 AM. Breaks at 1:30PM\, and dinner (TBD). Expected completion around 8-9 PM.\nSTRICT LIMIT of 28 players MAX.\nENTRY: $50 (Broken down as $20 for main event prize pool\, $5 to Frenzy pool\, $10 to 8-Strikes pool\, $15 for IFPA Fees and house fees). Registration details and link will be posted March 3rd at Noon. Registration is not confirmed until payment is sent — You may register for a spot\, but if others pay before you do\, you will be waitlisted. All fees refundable up to 1 week prior to tournament for any reason (exceptions will be made after that on a case-by-case basis).\n\nTournament #1: The Main Event: 12 Round Matchplay\nPlayers will compete in 12 rounds of Tiered Swiss Matchplay on 2 banks of machines (machines will be halved between historically long running games and shorter running games using matchplay data from prior tournaments at the Lower Playfield). Scoring will be 7-5-3-1 based on finish (7-4-1 for 3 player groups\, if applicable).\nAfter 12 rounds\, the top 8 players will compete in a 4 game matchplay playoff. Games will be on banks revealed at the time of finals. Highest seed in each group will have choice of bank. Order of play will be chosen for the first game\, and order of finish for all subsequent games (1st place finisher in the prior game will play first\, 2nd place will play 2nd\, and so on). Top 2 from each group of finalists will play in a final round to determine place of finish.\nThe Main Event will have roughly 160% TGP and will be MASSIVE RANKING POINTS.\nDidn’t make the finals? That’s okay… because you’re on to:\nTournament #2: 90 minute Royal Rumble (Flip Frenzy) + Finals!\nRunning concurrently with the Main Event Finals\, all other players will compete in a 90 minute flip frenzy on games not currently being used in the finals. Players will play 2 player games with the winner getting a point. After playing as player 2\, players will go back in to a queue to wait for another competitor. After 90 minutes\, no more games will be started. The top 4 players by win differential (with automatic tiebreaks being win differential by games played) will move on to a 4 game Matchplay final to determine finishing order.\nAround the time that that wraps up\, it should be dinner time. Followed by…\nTournament #3: 8 Progressive Strike Matchplay\nPlayers will be randomly placed into groups of 3 or 4 for rounds of matchplay\, alternating in banks as was done in the main event. After the first round\, the tournament will be fully swissed\, meaning that you will be playing against players with similar results as yourself. Progressive strikes means you will get strikes for each game equal to the number of players who finished above you in the game (0-1-2-3 strikes for 4 player groups\, 0-1-2 for 3 player groups). Once a player hits 8 strikes\, they are eliminated from subsequent rounds. Top 4 players will receive prizes.\nPrize Structure (Assuming full field of 28 players):\nMain Event:\n1st: $200\n2nd: 150\n3rd: 100\n4th: 50\n5th-8th: $15\nRoyal Rumble:\n1st: $55\n2nd: $40\n3rd: $30\n4th: $15\nStrikes:\n1st: $110\n2nd: 80\n3rd: 60\n4th: 30\nSodas\, Beverages\, Snacks\, and shitty beer provided.
