WPPRMania III Registration – What You Need to Know

Registrations for WPPRMania 3 will open this Saturday, March 8th. The form will be linked on that page. Here’s what you need to know:

• Historically, this tournament fills up quickly. Please be prepared to register at noon if you’re interested! Last year we filled all spots in just over a minute. Have the form open and be refreshing at noon Saturday. Please hammer the form directly — not our poor website! We host our reg form on Google for a reason :).
• A brief reminder that WPPRMania is a full day of pinball. We will be opening the doors at 9 and starting at 10 am on April 26th. There will be short break at dinner, but you will be playing pinball pretty much all day. If that sounds fun, great! If that sounds like too much: it is! And come play some shorter tournaments instead (like our Strikes tournament next week, for example. That’s a short ‘un!)
• We will be trying to keep on pace to get all 3 tournaments done as efficiently as possible. Games will be set harder. Rulings will be swift. Breaks will be short. Even with all that said, tournament 3 will end late. Last year, strikes ended around 11:20 PM (but it’s strikes, so many folks got to leave earlier). Regardless: be prepared for a long day. We will be moving quickly. Estimates for end time are a best guess, but it will be late.
• The Main Event and the Survivor Series (Strikes) tournaments will earn players Ice Ice Playfield points. The top 16 points getters between The Lower Playfield and Ice Ice Arcade will get to play in a free tournament at the end of the year for a $200 top prize. More info is here.
• The entry fee includes all 3 tournaments, dinner, and house fees. It’s all inclusive. Conversely, we cannot (or I guess, “Will Not”) have a provision for only playing in one or two tournaments. You may exclude yourself from a tournament if you must, but you will still need to pay the full entry fee.
• Similar to last year, we will encourage finalists from the Main Event to withdraw from Event 2. By IFPA rules, we cannot force any finalist from the Main Event to withdraw from the concurrently running consolation tournament, though you will incentivized to play only one tournament.
• Remember that we are catering dinner! Details are on the page, if you played last year it will be a similar menu from last year from Manchester’s finest: Puritan Backroom. This is included in your entry fee. But you should plan on packing lunch and eating between rounds, and snacks. We will have snacks, but this is a difficult tournament to manage doordash, and there’s nothing close enough to run out to. Please plan ahead.
• If you have food allergies, please e-mail us or talk to us so we can plan around you for dinner. We will be happy to accommodate as long as we know well in advance!
• One change from our tournaments is that we require all players pre-pay for WPPRMania. We spend a lot of cash on trophies, catering, and there are many prize pool envelopes to create. While we’re lenient and workable on other tournaments, we must insist on pre-payment for this one. Please see the payment details on the event page. If you can’t do that, you must e-mail us and we will figure something out.
