Episode 3: Cream of the Crop
We have a real barn burner for you this week, with 4 incredible top 500 IFPA-ranked players that also happen to be pinball power couples. These are all players that have had a lot of success in the world of competitive pinball — a true everyone could win it battle!
- Allison O’Neill (IFPA highest rank 313) is an owner/operator of Port City Pinball, the creator of Minty’s Mods, and the creator of the backglass for the esteemed Metallica retheme “Michael McTallica”. In addition to volunteering at tournaments and fixing pinball machines, Allison enjoys being the person that everyone tells their bad drain stories to after a ball.
- Brian O’Neill (IFPA highest rank 33) is one of the owner and operators of Port City Pinball in Portsmouth NH. A seasoned tournament player, Brian is also the 2022 IFPA New Hampshire state champion and the state representative to the IFPA. Brian is a focused player and pinball advocate, who also loves teaching games to players.
- Daniel Rone (IFPA highest rank 63) is the current IFPA State Champion for Maine, as well as a prior IFPA State Champion for Oregon. Though a recent transplant to the New England area, Daniel has quickly made his presence known by ranking highly in many New England events. In addition to being a great player, Daniel has an appreciation for well made fast food.
- Zoë Vrabel (IFPA highest rank 196) is a member of the IFPA Women’s Advisory board, an IFPA Director, the IFPA Womens State Champion for Massachusetts for the last two years running, and the runner up at the 2024 Women’s World Championships. In addition to her many accomplishments in Pinball, Zoe also shares an appreciation for well made fast food, which very quickly endeared her and Daniel to us at the Lower Playfield.
On commentary:
- Derek Correia is an owner/operator of The Lower Playfield, and got this job by knowing someone.
- Will Parks is the longest tenured (2 episodes) and most seasoned commentator (2 episodes) at Friday Night Flips. Despite not living in the same area, Will has more fantastic breakfast recommendations in the area than folks that have lived here for 10 years do.
