Summer is here, and with no leagues out there, NPC is here to keep the ball rolling. Each league night will start with doors open at 6, and play beginning at 7:30. Players will be matched in groups of 3 or 4 and play 4 games of pinball each night. Each player will choose a game at the start of the night. In 3 player groups, the 4th game will be randomly assigned. Player order will rotate each game. Games will be tracked in Match Play. Games will be scored 7-5-3-1 (or 7-4-1). Games will be on after league until about 10 PM, when we kick y’all out 🙂
Play will continue for 7 weeks, but your best 5 weeks will count for standings, meaning you can skip 2 weeks and not be disadvantaged. You must be in the top 50% of players to make A finals and play a minimum of 4 weeks. We will hold both A finals for the top qualified folks AND B finals on Tuesday, September 9th. The four highest players who can attend Grand Finals on September 13th will advance to Grand Finals to play for individual glory and Team TLP in the Team Finals! Details are all on NPCPinball.org
Unique (I think?) to us: If you make it to Grand Finals and attend, I will buy you a TLP t-shirt. It probably won’t be here in time, but I mean, it’s a nice gesture.
We will have a max of 32 players for league, so please sign up at the form above. We do not anticipate this will sell out, but who knows. NPC dues ($30) can be paid in advance or at your first league night, but must be paid before you can play.
Please note: If this is your first time playing at The Lower Playfield — we are in Goffstown, NH. An address will be sent along with general information for the location the week prior to league with directions to the e-mail you registered at. We’re about 5-10 minutes out from Manchester, depending on which way you get to us. Thanks!
Any questions or concerns, please reach out at hello@thelowerplayfield.com!
As of close of week 3, we have 18 participating players, so we can now determine the finals payouts and format.
A finals will be the top 8 players by seeding that are able to attend on September 9th (note: there is an off week for Labor Day between the 7 weeks and finals). Any other players will be allowed to play in B finals.
“A” finals will be 4 player groups of 3 games. The highest seed in the group will be able to pick the final game. Game 1 will be a random modern, and game 2 will be a random classic. Highest seed will have play order choice for game 1, followed by seed order until all places are selected. After game 1, the player who finished 4th will pick play order on the next game, followed the player who finished 3rd, and so on. The highest seed’s picked game can not be picked by that player again if they should advance to finals (though it may be randomly assigned). Scoring for finals games will be 4-2-1-0.
“B” finals players will get seeded in a head-to-head bracket based on season finishing position. Depending on the number of players in B, some players may get a first round bye. The players will play a best-of-3 game set, with the highest seed picking the first game and the other player having pick of player order. After each game, the player who lost will be able to pick the next game, and the other player will pick player order. There are no restrictions on game selections other than the same game cannot be played in the 3-game set more than once. Play will continue until there is a B champion!

At the end of finals, we will need to confirm top 4 availability for Grand Finals. If any players are unable to attend, we will ask the next player in A standings based on first round finals results and tiebreak if needed until we have 4 representatives.
We will finalize the prize schedule before Week 4, once we know how many folks will be playing!
